Frequently Asked Questions
Tarot is a powerful but often misunderstood tool. Many people have preconceived ideas and questions that might need addressing before they have their first reading. You will find the answers to some of the most common queries below.
What is tarot?
The tarot originated as a playing card game amongst the nobility in 15th century Italy. It is unclear when tarot first became used for divination (gaining insight into the past/present/future) but the first deck explicitly intended for that purpose was released in 1791. Since then, it has developed into one of the most important systems of divination in the world today.

The modern deck is divided into two groups: the Major Arcana made up of 22 cards and the Minor Arcana made up of 56 cards. Each of the Majors represents a powerful archetypal force, such as Strength or Death. The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits like playing cards: wands, swords, cups and coins/pentacles. Each suit has numbered cards from ace-10 and four court cards: page, knight, queen and king. The number cards represents events or moments in life, whereas the court cards represent people or characteristics. In a reading, a number of cards will be laid out in a spread and woven together to tell a story, which will give insight into your situation.
How do online readings work? Can you still connect to me psychically if I'm not physically present?
The short answer is yes, I can! During the pandemic many psychics and readers had to experiment with seeing clients over Zoom. During that time I discovered, like many of my peers, that those readings were just as effective as reading in person. As long as I can see and hear you, I can establish a psychic connection. The accuracy of your reading will not be affected by whether you have it online or in person.
Is tarot dangerous or scary?
Despite what some horror movies might suggest, there is nothing scary or dangerous about getting a tarot reading. As an ethical tarot reader, I will never predict death or disaster, but will use the cards to bring you hope, and empower you to resolve your own problems. Tarot readings should be an enjoyable, meaningful, and thought provoking experience, but they should never be scary and are certainly not dangerous.
What kind of questions can I ask?
I will happily assist you in formulating your questions to make the most of the cards. Tarot is an excellent tool for answering open ended questions and exploring situations. One can normally ascertain the broad chronology of events, but finding out exact names and dates is not usually possible. I will not answer questions related to your health. For medical queries please consult your doctor.
Can tarot really predict the future?
Each tarot spread tells a story which is usually in three parts: past, present and future. The past is already written and the present is being written right now. The future the cards will show you is the most likely one based on the past and present. Various other possible outcomes can also be explored, and insight gained into how to achieve the one you desire. However, it is important to remember that the final decision and responsibility for any outcome always remains with you the client, not the reader.
Can someone come with me?
All online consultations are strictly private. Please try to find a room where you can be alone to take the call. If you need someone to accompany you as an interpreter or carer, please contact me in advance and I will be more than happy to accommodate your needs.
Will the session be recorded?
All my tarot readings are recorded unless you specifically request otherwise. The recording will be sent to you within 24 hours after the session. Please download it as soon as possible onto your own device, as I am only able to store it for 2 weeks, after which it will be deleted.
Is my reading confidential?
With certain exceptions, all tarot readings are held in the strictest confidence and no one other than yourself and I will view the recording of the session. The exceptions are if I believe you and/or someone else is at risk of harm, or I am asked to share the recording with the police.
How old do I need to be to have a tarot reading?
You must be at least 18 years of age to have a tarot reading. I will never knowingly read for someone under the age of 18.
Do you offer face to face readings?
For a face to face reading, please come find me at one of the many events I read at throughout the year. Follow me on social media to find out where I will be next!
