Talks and Workshops
As both a scholar and a magical practitioner with a background in education, I specialise in giving talks and workshops that break down the divide between academia, the occult, and interested members of the public. The content of my talks is drawn from my years of personal experience and rigorous research, then delivered with clarity and flair. I have partnered with a number of high-profile clients, including the Seeking Witchcraft Podcast, Treadwell's Bookshop and Seed Talks, teaching on a broad range of esoteric topics. Specialist Subjects
Each of these subjects encompasses a broad range of topics, and I am able to pitch each topic differently depending on my audience: academics, practitioners, or members of the public.

Ancient Greco-Roman, and Egyptian, Religion and Magic
From letters to the dead to enchanted statues, the magic and religion of the ancient world are fascinating but often misunderstood topics. Drawing on my postgraduate research at the University of Cambridge and years of using ancient techniques in my own practice, I offer a range of talks and workshops covering the full spectrum of the subject. Currently, I am teaching a series of classes on ancient magic at Treadwell's Bookshop.

Witchcraft and Magic
As a practising witch of over 15 years' experience, I teach a wide range of practical topics, from a beginner's introduction to candle magic to more advanced trance techniques. I also have a long-standing academic interest in the history of modern witchcraft, particularly where it intersects with queerness and Classical scholarship.

Tarot and Divination
I have been reading tarot and practicing divination for over 15 years, and I offer a range of introductory and advanced classes on the tarot. I also combine my interests in divination and ancient magic to offer both academic talks and practical workshops on ancient systems of divination, such as augury (bird divination), bibliomancy (book divination), lecanomancy (bowl scrying) and astragalomancy (dice divination).

Queer Magic and Spirituality
Throughout my life, my witchcraft, paganism and queerness and have been deeply intertwined. Drawing on my lived experience as a queer witch and academic research, I offer talks on the relationships between queerness and modern witchcraft, as well as practical rituals and workshops for queer seekers.

Queerness, Queer People and the Witchcraft Revival
Seed Talks
.In this illustrated lecture, Jules McArthur explores the complex roles that both queer people and ideas about queerness had in the development of modern witchcraft. They discuss notable figures such as Aleister Crowley and Doreen Valiente, as well as lesser-known ones, including Jani Farrell-Roberts, one of the first trans High Priestesses in Gardnerian Wicca. Finally, they close by exploring what it means to be a queer witch today.
The Greek Magical Papryi
The Centre for Pagan Studies
Seeking Witchcraft
The Greek Magical Papyri are a collection of spells and rituals, written by Egyptian priests between the 2nd century BCE and the 5th century CE. These fascinating texts form the foundation of the Western Magical Tradition, and contain many techniques that are still useful today. In this workshop, Jules breaks down the key concepts needed to understand these texts and explores how they can be integrated into a modern magical practice.
Is Intention Really Everything?
Seeking Witchcraft
'Intention is everything' is a mantra heard throughout online withcraft spaces. However, is it it really true? In this talk, Jules explores the role of intention in magic, alongside the importance of magical ingredients and relationships. The teach important but little known concepts such as the Doctrine of Signatures and the theory behind consecrating magical tools. Ultimatley, they demonstrate that magic is far too rich and complex to be reduced to intention alone.

"Jules' talk provided a fresh spin on the history of witches through a queer lens. Their presentation was erudite and the topic was fascinating. I will certainly be looking out for more from them!
